Experiencing the Kingdom of God on Earth

Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”

Focus on this--the Good news that John and Jesus preached was the same, identical message, "the Kingdom of Heaven". This same gospel should be what your church leaders are preaching and teaching. The good news that John and Jesus delivered was the Kingdom government. This is what the early church preached and taught. Much of the time today, we get the message wrong by preaching the good news of heaven. Believe me, the two aren't the same . We tell people to put their faith in Jesus for salvation and then we focus on heaven as our goal and destination. Jesus never preached heaven and neither should we. There may be much appeal to the idea of going to heaven, but individuals who are struggling daily with life need a message to help them here and now. People need to hear the Good news of the Kingdom of Heaven (which is His government), the rule of the Lord God has come to planet earth and all can experience the reality of that world... From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people .

Keep in mind, the comfort of heaven should assist us and sustain us through the dark hours, but it should never be the focus of the gospel we preach or teach. God's Constitution never promised that Jesus would rescue us from the world. These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

Serious Questions:

1. Explain the difference between heaven and the Kingdom.

2. What does the difference mean to you as a Kingdom citizen?

3. What does "the rule of God has come to earth" mean to you?

Now, overcoming the world means that when we live, think, and conduct ourselves like Kingdom citizens, we can experience success, victory, and fruitfulness, not in the "sweet by and by ", but today. It means that we can overcome right now . We do not have to be victim of our circumstances. We avail ourselves of our Kingdom citizenship and its blessings, rights, and benefits to help us to rise above our circumstances, either to change them or to prosper and move forward in spite of them. Kingdom living doesn't sit back meekly in submission and defeat under the world's system. Kingdom living moves forward with confidence in wisdom, power, and boldness under the guidance of the Holy Spirit as children of the King.
